Young Breeder Program

4H and FFA Promotion

young cow breeder

As a way to promote youth involvement in the Wagyu Breed and pass on what we have learned, we will give Texas Residents who are also current members of the Junior American Wagyu Association their 1st Wagyu ET Calf.

We agree to place a high-quality wagyu embryo into the student’s donor recipient cow at absolutely NO expense to the student. We will donate the embryo, sync the receipt, and place the embryo. The student must pick up the recipient after pregnancy is confirmed usually 40 days after implantation. Please contact us for availability and specifics. Students must be BQA Certified at the time they bring their recipient to our ranch.

This is a NON-Transferable option outside of the purchasing family. The student agrees to acknowledge Texas Prime Cattle Company LLC as the breeder.

Students are welcome to join us on our ranch when we work cattle with the goal to learn about our duty to our animals and what we expect of them. Principles of stockmanship include halter training, nutrition, what cows need to be productive, and herd health, including vaccinations and options to treat common health problems. Breeding includes reviewing EPD’s and how to determine the best mating option, Principles of AI, and how to set up an animal for AI. Principles of ET and how to set up an ET animal as well as attend an ET session.

New Breeder Program

ONLY available to new breeders – Contact us for availability.

Agree to purchase 2 embryos from our program and we will sync and place one of those embryos in YOUR receipt cattle. We will confirm pregnancy at 45 days and repeat placement, if needed, and then reconfirm pregnancy at 45 days, if needed. Cattle may be picked up 45 days after the embryo is placed, and payment will be due when the cattle are picked up. We will provide a rapid on-farm pregnancy check for buyers to confirm pregnancy at 90 days.

If cattle accept the first embryo, then the buyer retains ownership of the banked embryo for future use.

Buyer is responsible to have receipts in acceptable condition and pregnancy tested open at the time of delivery. Receipts must be up to date on vaccination and free of ALL diseases. Cattle will NOT commingle with our existing herd.

Buyer is responsible for delivery and pick up of cattle. Any cattle not picked up after 50 days will incur feeding charges.
